Kisuke (鬼助 きすけ, Kisuke) is one of the playable characters in the game, a rogue ninja who is the hero of Ninja Scroll of the Demon Blade. Having no memory of his past, Kisuke inexplicably finds himself a fugitive being chased for a crime he no longer remembers with only the memory to obtain a certain "katana". However, despite his intentions, battle seems to follow wherever he goes.
Profile Overview[]
Kisuke is a sharp tongued samurai apprentice who is still being under the process of becoming a full time warrior, but like everyone else during his time he was no different than being a bandit ninja who worked as a mercenary servant for the uzuki clan and he seemed to have a love obssesion to the point that he would often do anything just to earn torahime's love even if he has to kill her own sister in order to "free" her body from the "evil" spirit of jinkuro izuna and end her suffering considering that momohime is not in herself anymore but rather a monster soul controlled momohime body who just looked like her, however despite his fight momohime's body she did not actually died after their battle, it only pushed jinkuro's soul out of momohime's body allowing her actual soul to regain control of it.

Kisuke is an 18 year old young man during the time of the ongoing events of the storyline of their era, although he seemed to looked much a bit younger than his actual age, he was a year younger than momohime, but compared to her, he had more heavier responsibilities than momohime did carried.
His clothing appearance features a blue sleeveless robe outfit with some partial samurai armor garment on his thighs and three skulls hanging behind his back tied to his waist it is probably a some kind of lucky charm items that he probably believes over that might give him luck during his journey according to his faith in his considered "lucky charm" decoration objects that are tied to his waist, in addition, he also wears traditional slippers.

Kisuke tends to be a nice person despite the fact he uses the Oboro Style. Sometimes, he will make curt responses to others, but in general, he is polite and has only good intentions.
Background Story[]
Kisuke was born in 1677 to a middle class uzuki family clan, one of the neighboring japanese warring kingdom states during the edo period, he was taken as an infant by the Iga ninja under the mysterious Mumyo. Raised as a Skull Valley ninja, Kisuke is given the task to steal the Kuzuryu Muramasa blade in the care of the Kagami house of the Narukami clan. However, having fallen in love with the sword's protector Torahime while posing as a servant boy, Kisuke turned on his fellow ninja and is mortally wounded protecting Torahime.
But Kisuke is given a second chance at life by the spirit of Senju Oboroya who used the soul fusion technique he devised, ceasing to be while giving Kisuke exceptional mastery over the Oboro Style. But the process left Kisuke without any memories of his past as he is pursued by several ninjas who call him a traitor. After defeating them, Kisuke gains the support of Yuzuruha, who is impressed by his sword-fighting skills. Having no other clue on his past, he heads to the ninja base in skull valley. He meets Yagyu Yukinojyo who offers to stop his ninja from chasing him is he reconfirms their alliance.
In order to do so, Kisuke is supposed to capture Torahime. After confronting Torahime, he starts to support her agenda while slowly regaining his memories and mission to seal Kuzuryu after the inugami within it consumes the shogun in its evil, this was revealed during the story of arashimaru epilogue.
Plotline Summary Perspective[]
Inexplicable Amnesia[]
Kisuke found himself nowhere in the bushes plains and cannot remember anything from his past, seeking answers for this mysterious memory fade, he made his way through the bush plains and encounters a group of ninja accusing him of being a traitor to them and asking him how he could do such thing to their people, however kisuke having no memory in his mind, he was not able to provide answers to the ninjas he encountered that are questioning to his supposed betrayal to them.
Despite his explanations to the ninjas, they still refuse to believe them and draw their weapons against him then kisuke gradually accepted their fight against him since they would not believe him no matter how much he explains his situation and his conditions to them, soon, him and the ninjas are about to fight one another and suddenly their commander named "kurozaru" appears who claims to be the guardian of the skull valley, which will eventually will join with the ninjas in their fight against kisuke.
Even though they outnumber him in quantity they lost their battle against kisuke, allowing him to escape away from them and down through the hill and encounters yuzuruha, a humanoid formed fox in the mountain's shrine he just passed by who came in the skull valley for some reason, she explains that she just have watch his battle over against the ninjas and their commander where he won that impressed them, and for that reason, they asked kisuke to do a favor for them that they cannot do, in exchange, she told him that he can use the sword he took in any way he wanted, the other foxes with her gave him some compliments for their impression in his skills of swordsmanship, kisuke stated to them that he will still be committed to agree with all of their statements even if they are just tricking him as long the sword that he took is a real "muramasa" blade.
Theft Accusations[]
Kisuke Heads back to the palace to gather information regarding his past, as showed up in the place, he encounters again a handful of ninjas that are making the same accusations and questions that the previous ninjas did that he encountered earlier, they also informed him that their master has no need of his aid, he then encounters yagyuu yukinojo who told him that his skill has no match in his even if they would fight as he claims and the will be ripping him off for forgetting his face who he was, as yagyuu claims that he was his "employer"
A monk in the palace approaches kisuke and told him that he have done something menace by stealing the sword of "muramasa" blade that could free the ghosts that we're being entrapped in their sealed fate by the sword he "stole" from the mountain in which that can transform into a giant centipede when being in together, then later him and the monk hears a rumbling outside of the palace and the monk told him that means that the ghost has just escaped from their prison because the sword that traps them was taken away from it's original keeping place that removes the barriers that stop the ghost from leaving their captivity and allowing them to escape and manifest the world.
However kisuke did not bothered hearing these statements coming from them, as the thing that only matters him is his blade he took that he needed for his own personal use and since that he cannot remember anything of what he did, he let it slide with them and ignore all of their statements and leave the palace, although he claims he did not actually know what they are telling him, he still realizes to himself (probably he still had something to remember) that it is still his fault if their statements they told him we're actually true rather than being a fake news.
As he tried to leave the palace when he gets to the rooftop of the palace, he encounters yagyuu yukinojo again and fought him over, he accuses kisuke of being a traitor in their side and claimed that he still have uses for them since he was defeated by kisuke in their duel, after this battle, kisuke heads back to the palace and made his way again inside the establishment and encounters a group of ninjas again who keeps telling him that he pretended in their side as they took the blade that he uses as his main weapon from the narukami clan kingdom on shogun's orders.
One of the ninja feudal guards informed him that anyone who possess the "illegal" blade can be punished by wiping it's possessor out of misery then a monk asked him if there is anybody who can fight like jinkuro izuna, but kisuke seemed not to care for it and he approaches yagyuu yukinojo who wanted to pardon him by asking him to do a favor for them in order to be forgiven by capturing torahime in his hand before somebody else will, and for that he could be forgiven, kisuke accepted this despite that he stated to yagyuu yukinojo and his henchmen that he still doesn't trust them at all for any reasons.
Taking Custody[]
Kisuke gives a chase after torahime in the ibuki mountain a place that he was told where is her whereabouts, as soon as he got in the middle pathway of the mountain, he encounters torahime along with her ghost samurai guardians who considered his approach on them as disrespectful and they spit some insults towards kisuke, they told him that their main goal is to destroy the shogun in order to cause more chaos between the warring kingdom states of entire japan, kisuke then finally founds torahime and wondered to ask her what could've something made her suffer in "that" much.
Torahime replied with a hostile response towards kisuke and told him that he "cannot" trick her in anyway, kisuke then warns torahime that if she did not surrender herself to him, he may forcibly take her strongly without any remorse, and threatens that she may die along with his ghost samurai henchment who cannot help her situation to make torahime protected from kisuke, he also told her that he is ready to kill all of her henchmen just to get her and states torahime that it would be helpful for her if kisuke would get rid all of the ghost samurai and she might thank him for that action, torahime ignores kisuke's warning and tells him that their revenge against him for his "betrayal" is serious and he shall withness their wraith against him.
Him and torahime along with her ghost samurais fought however, kisuke's swordsmanship mastery proved him to be more lethal than they expected, losing their fight against him and knocking torahime down from consciousness temporarily, the two of her henchmen informed him that iga ninjas should kill them if they killed him by the orders of shogun, however kisuke getting confused on their statements and often ask the ghost samurais henchmen to tell more statements to him as he may just have hit his head due to his confusing with their words, the kagami ghost samurai told him that he was the responsible putting the "muramasa" blade sword into the hands of tokugawa shogunate and that when he drew near to torahime, she has to disguise herself as a castle servant to avoid from being seen and accuses kisuke of abusing her trust and for that reason they should kill him.
They also accuse him of causing the disturbance to their land that threatens their peace, the barriers that we're disabled due to the sword taking he did, is the responsible for keeping them out of edo and that the shogun could be an evil controlled commanders from a demon blade, after this conversation, torahime regains consciousness and remembers kisuke that he sacrificed himself and took the "muramasa" blade sword for himself that was meant to be on her ownership, that almost took kisuke's life at that moment.
Kisuke refuted her claims that he did not die and that cannot be possible to happen when he was standing in right front of her, torahime states kisuke that did not understand how it is dangerous to obtain such a precious blade sword that can cause disaster to their land, she told him that her family keep the sword safe from anyone who would wish to take it that might cause sinister for 200 years.
However torahime seemed to be dissapointed that she could not wipe out kisuke because of the power he had from the skills of using the sword he took rather than spending more time attempting to defeat him, she decided to left and wish that anyone who can defeat him should wipe out kisuke and that it is the duty of every priestess in the kingdom to wipe out anyone who bears the swors in their hands, torahime sworn in her oath that she is ready to die and to be disregarded forever as long she will be able to destroy the evil spirit of kuzuryu's blade, and told her kagami ghost samurai henchmen that they should come quickly to the edo castle to check the shoguns if they had the blade and that they should find it.
Evil Exterminator[]
Kisuke sets off to chase after torahime, he decided to take a shortcut path around the mountain known as "tokaido road" in order to reach the edo castle in time before her, as he travel further along the road of the mountains, he encountered a stranger young lady how weird is kisuke for not using the main road when crossing the mountains and informs him that he is crossing the border station of the mountain, the stranger young lady explains that lawbreakers of the mountain and the society are tied with the evil spirits and therefore anyone who is associated or being "evil spirit" should not pass beyond the point of border station of the mountain as the stranger young lady says to kisuke,
She also thought that his facial appearance looked "possessed" and tells him to hand over his blade to her, kisuke replied to the stranger young lady that why would someone would just give their weapon, the stranger young lady explains that she had been performing exorcism around the mountain and claims to have removed several ghost in the area who have intention or plans harming the land, however kisuke is not that bothered about it and he left after hearing the explanation of the stranger young lady.
Kisuke travels even further much farer after ignoring the strange young lady's explanation and spots a dying kagami ghost samurai warrior who explains to him that they could be immortal but they cannot overcome the holy power, kisuke asked the kagami ghost samurai how unforunate the ghost could be and be defeated so easily as he tells the ghost and he also asked about torahime, the ghost explains to him that torahime run off to ask help from honen osho in zentoji temple in yamato. the kagami ghost samurai tells him that the ghost cannot do the duty on it's own due to it's bad condition and the ghost told kisuke that he is the only their hope for now, and has to take apologize and have to eat it's own word since the ghosts cannot fulfill their duty anymore for torahime, and pleads kisuke to assist torahime in her mission.
The stranger young lady approached the two and explain to both of them that the ghost themselves have the ambition aims of sight of the mountain and claims that they will be not be able to set off foot there again because she explains that the edo is now shielded with a great barrier powered with a rayline in mount fuji and angrily tells kisuke that she should stop all evil and prepare himself of her wraith against him, she claims that she has fire and charms that can vanquish evil spirits almost immediately and that she has to show the light for him in order to understand, Kisuke and the stranger young lady fought each other and resulting in the stranger young lady's retreat from kisuke's attack and tells that his techniques can defy the laws of nature and that the oboro style is still among themselves.
Self Witnessing[]
As kisuke continues his journey and run after torahime, he further climbed up in the mountain to follow the directions of the shortcut pathway of the mountains to get in time in the edo castle for torahime, he encountered the ghost of his former mentor and his own ghost image that explains to it of that himself had to recover the blade he stole or else torahime will suffer for eternity and pleads the ghost that if it wants to help him then it should do it now, as kisuke have seen this it brought back his memory that he actually did sacrifice himself for torahime that almost put him into danger to the point of losing his life and that the blade he actually stole was lost as he claims, the ghost of his former mentor teacher explains to himself ghost that many of his apprentice tried to steal the book of secret arts and kill other ones who already have or have known the oboro style.
Although most of them have been killed it subsided his anger and that there is still one regret for the ghost and it means that there should be someone of living that perpetuate his book of secret arts so his life's work will not just fade away for nothing because the ghost wants him and itself to become one through the spirit fusion of the book of secret arts that the ghost learned from the demon world as it claims and tells kisuke that all of wounds both from physical and mentally will heal and that even if the ghost vanished forever, his style should live in him as long he is alive and will be available to pass to will be his future children and through his generations.
Kisuke left it and continues his journey again and encounters a handful of dead ninjas and says that the mission of their clan is to carry away the sword from the edo castle and twenty ninjas had already infiltrated the narukami clan kingdom and their plans was to expose muramasa and crush the kagami clan for treason and acknowledges that torahime had learned the truth and he was stabbed trying to protect her from their leader and prays to himself that he entrusts his life to the ghost of oboro and gained the swordsmanship skills from the sword he took that he thought was impossible to happen and that he risks everything for torahime because he had feelings for her and the reason why he actually loves torahime now and that it hurts him to remember his past memory things regarding his hostile moments with her back earlier and that he should continue his journey again and head to the yamato province.
Web Entrapment[]
Kisuke continues his mission of capturing torahime in order to restore his honor in his allegiance that banished him temporarily for his considerable dishonorable actions by the other officials of the clan he is included into, as he goes for more on the way to follow torahime, he saw a corridor part of a town covered in webs and sees a handful of decayed corpses attached in walls while being surrounded by webs that are pasted to their bodies, during his investigation there, he saw some still alive victims being attached to the walls that are pasted to it by the webs but most we're unconscious at their state, one of these alive victims we're able to speak and tell kisuke that they we're forcible kidnapped by a giant monster spider who had been living in their village for the last 1000 years by the mountains where their village is situated into.
The sapped alive victim explains to kisuke that the monstrous spider's victims digests it with it's saliva in order to turn them into his offsprings known as "phantom" spiders as he explored further, he saw torahime attached to the walls by the webs being pasted to her body who was a bit shock that she became one of the monstrous spider's victims despite being a powerful warrior herself, kisuke then calls the monstrous spider whose had been victimizing humans for long time that is told to have been living for over 1000 years, to fight him and that he is confident enough that he will never be caught by the monstrous spider's webs then the monstrous spider comes out and tells him that he is already being the monstrous spider's prey and that it is excited to drink kisuke blood and the two later fought on and kisuke was able to win over the monstrous spider forcing it to back away from it's victim lair and giving him time to rescue torahime and it's other still alive victims at the moment.
Evacuated People[]
One of the monstrous spider's victims thanked kisuke for his rescue of them in time before they could had been digested and turn into one of it's offsprings, and explain to kisuke that he has many things to learn from him and his newly life after the rescue, it also explained that the monstrous spider's name that kidnapped them was tsuchigumo, this spider's victims who talks to kisuke that he feels surreal to see torahime physical before his eyes as he knew that torahime had died before earlier during the waging wars of the narukami clan kingdom to it's other neighboring kingdoms and that he even can remember that buried her body at a moment and yet was shock to see that she clearly looks alive and not a ghost which made the spider's victim baffled that how such thing could happen this made kisuke to ask him if he was really serious or just playing sarcasm on him.
however the spider's victim keep explained the fact that he already knew her before and that he have seen her burial by his own eyes that kisuke refuted and claim that it cannot be possible when torahime was literally with them and physically existing, despite kisuke refuses to believe the victim's story, torahime herself actually acknowledges it that it actually happened that she died and explains to kisuke that one of the shogun's men had killed her during the war but she has to be resurrected because she can't go to the other world with the blade not being on it's right place that could cause a curse among the society of japan and had to sworm herself not to go to the afterlife as long the kuzurya blade is not still being return in it's rightful place in order to block all evil and negative spirits from coming out their portal to manifest the world with their dark magic powers, torahime explains to kisuke that she has only a limitation of 49 days being alive before she could go back to the afterlife where she is destined for, one of the other spider's victims told kisuke that he seems to be fond of torahime and it was too obvious for him to hide that fact.
Torahime comes forward to all of them and explains that she cannot proceed to the edo castle without reclaiming the kuzuryu blade by herself and her duty cannot end and she cannot have rest without having it in her hands, and pleads to ask a mark of defense from one of the spider's victims whom she called "honen" torahime tells him that she needs to get to the kawanakajima quickly in order to get the kuzuryu blade in time in order to hide because she has no that remaining time left being alive in the place of living.
Endings:[]
First Ending[]
He eventually attacks the shogun's castle to act as a decoy for Torahime, who tries to retrieve the demon blade Kuzuryu, which contains an Inugami bent becoming a god. Once he reaches them, the Shogun has already fatally wounded Torahime and she dies in Kisuke's arms as he defeats the Shogun after allowing the Inugami to consume him. But in the end, Kisuke commits suicide after failing to convince the Buddha to revive Torahime's life. Torahime, who had ascended to paradise, however, begged that she and Kisuke may be reborn together for a second chance. Her wish is granted and Kisuke and Torahime are reborn as Kanbei and Ohana respectively, although with no memories of their past lives. After 10 years Yuzuruha is then sent to play cupid and reconnect Kisuke's and Torahime's fates.
Second Ending[]
Kisuke and Torahime find the Shogun killed by Torahime's sister Momohime, whose body is possessed by the spirit of Oboroya's fallen apprentice Jinkuro who claims Kuzuryu for his own scheme. Jinkuro recognizes Kisuke as carrying part of his old master's soul and challenges him for a fight to determine who the true master of Oboro style is. Kisuke is able to use his blade to destroy Jinkuro and free Momohime from the possession. Torohime is reunited with her sister shortly before she has to return to the afterlife, she had only been given 49 days to recover the blade containing Inugami, that her family had been guarding to protect it from misuse. Torahime's dying wish is that Kisuke watches over Momohime. Respecting her wish, Kisuke and Momohime become a demon blade hunter team, trying to free the land from the corruption through the demon blades.
Third Ending[]
Possessing the fate-altering Demon Blade, Kisuke finds himself in the past at the point where he had stolen Kuzuryu and lost his memories. By altering the past when turns on his allies, Kisuke managed to avert Torahime's death while taking Kuzuryu with the intent to exhaust its evil by traveling the world in search of other evil. Before leaving, Kisuke promises Torahime that he will return to her.
